Laurent’s Fundraising Walk

As our thirtieth anniversary approaches, we are hoping that we can ‘Go for Gold’ and ensure we’re still here to support Bolton’s tens of thousands of unpaid carers for decades to come.
We are looking for volunteers, willing to take on a fundraising challenge, to help raise the vital funding we need to ensure that every unpaid carer in Bolton has access to information, support, respite and opportunities to ensure that they have chance to look after their own health and wellbeing.
On Saturday 17th June, Laurent Fernandez-Moreno, our telephone befriender, took on the Jersey Island Walk, a 48 mile trek from one end of the island to the other. On a very hot, dry day, Laurent completed the walk in 19 hours, following a 3am start.
To date the walk has raised around £1,200 and we are still happy, and would be most grateful, to take donations, by cheque, card or cash at The Thicketford Centre, Thicketford Road, Bolton, BL2 2LW or online, via the online giving page: Laurent’s Island Walk | Wonderful.org. As a small charity, we are also looking for anyone who may be willing to take on a challenge to contact Alison on 01204 363056 or email alison@boltoncarersupport.co.uk.
