Telephone Befriending Service

Telephone Befriending Service

Caring for someone can sometimes feel lonely. Carers can often feel stressed, unappreciated, overwhelmed and unable to cope.

The Telephone Befriending Service aims to reduce loneliness and isolation through longer term contact. It offers a regular phone call to carers, at an arranged time, which can provide emotional support or just a chance to chat.

The service provides:

A regular connection with the same person

An opportunity to be listened to and heard

A chance to offload frustrations

Time to discuss and explore your own feelings without being judged

Information about services and how to access them

Support with stress and anxiety

Encouragement with looking after yourself

The subject carers want to discuss is less important than being able to have a regular check in and to feel supported in whatever they are going through.

For more information or to access the service, contact the Carers’ Helpline on 01204 363056 email info@boltoncarers.org.uk
